1. In game name (login name should be the same):
TheXenonCodex
2. Do you have any alternate characters you play on Mattherson or on other servers? If so, please list them here:
[potp]BeltFedSlaughterEngine [NC]
[qpro]DoomGuy00 [TR]
both on Emerald
3. RL First Name:
Chris
4. RL Age:
28
5. Time zone you play in and your frequency of play:
EST
Almost daily, but i do take days off here and there.
6. What or who brought you to DARK? You watched us on the battlefield? You spoke to a member? Let us know here:
a fellow former NNG by the name of 0li0li.
7. Anything you'd like to tell us? Additional comments or questions here:
Hi all, i'm TheXenonCodex, and i enjoy magrider sunset cruises, tossing ammo, and i would like to join DARK.

another NNG convert here, won't go into details, but i will say i am here to play a video game, not enrol in a sports team.
i play all three empires, and have broking level 50 on at least two. i've been playing since beta, so i know what i'm doing, i just can't aim for shit. i play SUPPORT mainly, and even when i'm in other classes i tend to be in the back. so if you have a max, and want to camp those biolab teleporters, i will sit there and toss out ammo until the enemy gets bored of the Vanu's free plasma dental care program. if you call for a medic, i have at least 3 revive grenades ready. and if you call for bombardment, i am a fairly decent HE lightning driver.

i will be upfront and say i am NOT a good shooter. my kdr is 0.5, and i can sometimes spray worse than a 15 year old boy at a strip club, but i DO listen to orders. i also have no mic, but i was assured that it wasn't an issue by another former NNG who recommended you highly. i am familiar with TS, so i will hop on that and be eerily quiet whenever i'm in a squad.

if i sound blunt, i do apologise, but i am indeed a scottish bloke being confined to the barrens of Florida, which might as well be Mars to my pasty ginger head.
i hope you'll take my sense of humour with a grain of salt, as i'd very much like to join an outfit that has cohesion, but doesn't ask me for a urine sample every time i play.
ps. i am out of state for the next week at least, so i hope that doesn't hinder things when i show up later and none of you have any idea who i am. also, if i am wrong on any of the policies, such as mic use, please please let me know and i apologise in advance.

Xenon.

No urine sample, no entry. Sorry, those are the rules. Good day.

But really, I'm sure you'll be a great fit for our outfit. We're playing around with our recruitment process a bit right now, so sorry if it's a little muddled. But the bottom line is... stick with us for two weeks, and if we both feel like it's a good fit, you're in. We're not too worried about any MLG gaming skills. Just be committed to rolling with the group, and make sure you can keep up and contribute in your way.

sorry for the repeated editing. i left out the actual application form thing.

just to be up front, i haven't actually played with you ANY, so i'm assuming my two weeks aren't ticking yet.
do i pm you when i finally do log in? or someone else.
thanks very much for you time.

Haha remember what I said about the recruitment process being a little muddled? As long as we see enough activity to gauge your fit within the next couple weeks, we'll call this day 1. Add myself, Calisai, ObsidianOne, and any other officers or members you'd like in-game for the time being. We'll make sure you get hooked up with whatever squad is running. Teamspeak is always a great place to find us or get connected. We may end up sending you an outfit invite if we decide to reintroduce the recruit rank.

yup. or Codex, if someone else has a similar name.

if anyone's curious [and because i'm really bored right now.] my name came from an old Hawkwind album. not remotely metal or anything of the sort, but it's what was playing when i first heard about PS2, and since i was sure i would only be playing VS, it sounded reasonably spacey. that and i originally planned to be a Galaxy pilot since my aim is awful, so i wanted to blare music out of it like Battlefield Vietnam let you do. but turns out when you have no mic, the only sign you can give your crew to drop is to hover. yeah. up to 12 angry dudes screaming at you because you got Strikered.

i'm STILL not back from out of state, so i apologise for making this shit more awkward than usual. hopefully before the 15. mega excited for the new optics, though. we'll see if my aim is actually shit, or it was the scopes.

No worries, catch up with us when you can. We're very understanding of RL stuff.

I've found that most aiming issues in PS2 can be attributed to one or a combo of the following:

Frame Rate (bad FPS = bad Aim, you can't hit what you can't reliably see)
Mouse Sensitivity levels (Too high and you overaim, Too low and you can't catch your aim up to a moving target)
Monitor size and screen resolution (Playing on a smaller monitor makes it hard to acquire and keep targets in your sights)
Impatience (Constantly running, so when you see a target you have to stop, acquire target *I have this problem myself*)
Situational awareness (not paying attention to the battle around you, getting tunnel vision and/or ignoring warning signs, sounds of gunfire, etc)
Physical (Bad eyesight, bad reaction times, etc)

I found that when I started recording my footage, then looked at it afterword (and after cringing a lot) I found quite a number of things I could improve upon. My big ones were the Mouse sensitivity levels (I ran with it way too high for infantry fighting... still do, but its cause I Mag a lot) and the Patience (I tend to play way too aggressive sometimes).

Anyway... take your time... we'll be here. :D

I definitely need to stop running and jumping so much. I'll have to watch a few MLG infantry player vids out there to get a general feel for how I should move to get back in the groove.

Hope to see you soon Xe. Yes, shortened it. It'll probably be just X by the time I see you. =P
