Post GU07 VS(or more specifically Calisai) Specific Changes
Just off patch notes... I'll update once I get to play on them tonight. :D Overall, a very nice update for VS. No VS-specific nerfs... only small buffs. The whole patch was very good for the Calisai-specific play experience. (I'm sure you're all happy about that! :lol: ) The only negative was the LA sound increase of JJs.

Quote:
* Increased Magrider base strafe acceleration rate.
* Increases top speed to 20 KPH (up from 15)
* Takes 2 seconds to reach 20 KPH (down from taking 3 seconds to reach 15)
* This should also cause the Magrider to not slow down as drastically when strafing over small inclines.

Hmm... I see this as a rebuff to the infantry AV dodging ability, and really only negates a bit of the MBT dodging due to the velocity buffs. About the same could have been done by only buffing TR/NC velocity and not touching the strafe on the Mag to begin with. So they are counteracting one half of the stupid Buff & Nerf Pass a few updates ago.

I had just recently gotten used to the Mag again... now they change it ... lol.... not complaining though.. :D

I have a feeling this should help in dodging Pheonix fire... which is probably one of the reasons they did it.

Quote:
VS Cosmos VM3
* Projectile Velocity: 400 m/s changed to 500 m/s
* Long Reload: 3.3 Seconds changed to 3.2 Seconds
* Short Reload: 2.475 Seconds changed to 2.4 Seconds

Mmmmm.... faster projectiles and lower (marginally) reload speeds. Cosmos stays where it is... Nice. I've gotten to really like the playstyle with these bad boys... and was holding off spending the certs on extended clips for these until after the changes. I might just go ahead and purchase them. That will be an insane amount of ammo and major cover fire ability.

Quote:
VS Blueshift VM5
* Rounds Per Minute: 350 changed to 365
* Projectile Velocity: 400 m/s changed to 500 m/s
* Now does 143 maximum and minimum damage.

Welp, They didn't change it to what I bought(based off their crappy descriptions and lack of VR), but i'll reserve judgement until I use it for a bit. A slight speed increase and velocity increase may help it out... not sure if it'll be worth dusting them off. They were suppose to be the most accurate, but a bit slower. They helped out the accuracy of the Nebula's without changing this one, and made this one faster... seems counter to the original descriptions.

Quote:
VS Nebula VM20
* Rounds Per Minute: 400 changed to 425
* Accuracy loss per shot: 0.06 changed to 0.05
* Short Reload Time: 2.1 seconds changed to 2.15 Seconds
* Long Reload Time: 2.8 seconds changed to 2.6 Seconds
* Minimum Damage @ 50 meters: 112
* Projectile Velocity: 450 m/s changed to 430 m/s

Anyone use the Nebulas? I never bought them due to the only place they seemed viable was in Insta-ScatMaxDeath-Zone. Now with the Scat-nerfs and these buffs, I wonder if they will be worth it. I guess its suppose to be used in the Biolab Gen room type fights to tear infantry apart... I'm just not sure that's the best place for our MAX. Definitely not my playstyle... I tend to hold back and fight in the medium range as much as possible. I guess they decided to say the hell with it, make the cosmos the accurate longer range one, blueshifts the hard hitting one and the Nebs the rapid fire, short range version. (probably going to stick with Cosmos due to my playstyle)

I have the Nebulas and Cosmos, but prefer the Cosmos. I did play in the VR today with both, and the omgwtfbbqpwn'ness of the Nebulas definitely seem to be increased. I'll have to try them out in action.

I feel a bit dumb 'noticing' changes to the maxes when they apparently never made it to live.

Regardless, the roles of the 3 AI weapons now seem VERY clear in the VR. Nebula = close-range/insta-gib, Blueshift = Long-range/no damage falloff/accurate, Cosmos = Sustained damage/medium/close range/all-arounder.

If you're a max guy, use Nebulas indoors, Blueshift outdoors, and Cosmos when you don't know where you're going to be.

Meh, with SOE, I'm not so sure they didn't change something.... lol.

It looks like they swapped the stats of old blueshift and cosmos, then buffed the blueshift. So effectively nerfed cosmos into the ground. There is a tweet from Higby saying that the cosmos shouldn't have been "nerfed"... but what that means I don't know. IE, the above changes to the Cosmos were to what the Cosmos SHOULD have been... not what it ACTUALLY has been the past 5 months (accidently using the intended accuracy of the blueshift... along with the expanded clip)

I would hold off for a bit on any purchases of max weaponry (I've been hording 1000 certs to dump into extended clips of the max weapon that i choose... once I can choose intelligently). Hopefully they will get this straightened out.

I'm just glad that I may actually be able to find a place to use blueshifts (bought them at release based on tooltip description) and hopefully they keep the usefulness of the cosmos so I don't regret buying them (bought based on the video SOE released awhile back about maxes, and verified at the time that they were more accurate (THE REASON I BOUGHT BLUESHIFTS IN THE FIRST PLACE...)

Meh... We'll see how everything shakes out.

Yeah, the Cosmos are just bullet hoses now. The Blueshift in VR feel like sniper rifles.
